WILL MY INSURANCE COMPANY OFFER ME A DISCOUNT IF I HAVE TPL TRAKKER INSTALLED IN MY VEHICLE?
All products of Trakker are of recognized international standards. Insurance companies not only encourage installation of TPL Trakker by offering attractive insurance rates and discounts, but it is also mandatory for certain vehicles. Insist on obtaining the Trakker Installation Certificate to avail a discount on your insurance premium.
FOR HOW LONG ARE TRAKKER PRODUCTS UNDER WARRANTY?
Should the TPL Trakker unit become inoperative or is faulty by reason of defective components, workmanship or design within 24 months from the initial installation; Trakker will repair or replace the system, free of charge. This warranty does not apply if the TPL Trakker unit has been tampered with, or worked on by anyone other than Trakker authorized personnel, or if the vehicle has been involved in a collision. Warranty extension is available at the end of 1st year for up to 3 years.
CAN TPL TRAKKER UNIT BE FITTED TO ALL VEHICLES?
Yes, it can be installed in all brands like Daihatsu, Honda, Hyundai, KIA, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Toyota and even the latest electronically configured vehicles such as BMW, Mercedes, Porche, Range Rover etc.
CAN ANYONE OTHER THAN MYSELF HAVE ACCESS TO MY SYSTEM?
Yes, only if you have registered any other person with Trakker as an Authorized or Secondary User and he / she is in the knowledge of the Password.
DOES THE VEHICLE HAVE ANY SECURITY IDENTIFYING FEATURES?
No! Features which could identify the vehicle as having a tracking system installed (e.g. stickers, flashing lights, honking, alarms, keys, dial-pads, remotes etc.), are extremely dangerous and strictly not advisable, if identified they could endanger the lives of the passengers.
CAN A TPL TRAKKER UNIT BE TRANSFERRED FROM ONE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER?
Yes, you are the proud owner of the unit and may request it to be transferred to any one of your vehicles. However, to avoid inconvenience please inform Customer Services at least 10 days in advance. Only standard cost for removing and re-installing shall apply.
CAN TRAKKER GUARANTEE THE RECOVERY OF MY VEHICLE?
By putting its vast infrastructure, state-of-the-art equipment and many resources to work, Trakker will do its best to recover your vehicle. However, sometimes there are certain circumstances which are beyond our control making it impossible to guarantee 100% recovery of your vehicle. Be secure in the knowledge that with TPL Trakker in your vehicle, it has an enviously high recovery rate of 95% recovery in Pakistan, depending upon the make /type of vehicle being stolen, with smaller vehicles being easier targets. This track record is exceptional where good industry standards require 85% recovery rate.
HOW DURABLE IS TPL TRAKKER?
The first TPL Trakker unit was installed in February, 2000, and is a matter of great pride that it was still functional at the end of 2007, which explains its unmatched durability in line with International Quality Standards. Like any other electronic system even this onboard computer does not have any defined specific lifespan. Components not covered under warranty being damaged due to accidents, water contact, extreme heat etc., directly affecting the unit can also be replaced at cost. The unit's life is also dependant upon the electrical system of the vehicle, if trouble free, it helps increase its component's life beyond 5 years.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHANGE MY VEHICLE REGISTRATION NUMBER TO A PERSONALIZED PLATE?
It is essential to immediately inform Customer Services (CS) or Trakker Security of any changes / additions to your vehicle or personal identification / details.
WHAT IS THE TRAKKER RESPONSE TEAM (TRT) SERVICE?
TRT not only helps recover your stolen vehicle, but also provides you assistance / advice in any emergency at all times.
IS THERE ANY COST ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECOVERY?
No, all efforts made by Trakker Response Team (TRT) carry no costs. However, all false alarms are subject to a charge of up to Rs. 10,000 per incident.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED?
In case of a battery tamper the TRT with the Police immediately responds as the vehicle sends out a red alert signal to the control room. To avoid any false alarms which may also cause you embarrassment and inconvenience, pre-informing the TCR whenever your car is sent to the workshop, etc, is essential.
HOW DO I KNOW MY TPL TRAKKER UNIT IS WORKING?
With TPL Trakker Assist and TPL Trakker Secure Plus, you can simply ask for your current location by calling our 24 hours operational Trakker Control Room (TCR) on 0800.01616 or (021) 111.000.300 or 1616 for Mobilink and Ufone users and verify the same.
WHEN SHOULD I HAVE MY TPL TRAKKER ASSIST / SECURE RETESTED?
The TPL Trakker unit has a designed life of 1 year with free warranty. The testing is done on a regular basis as the unit is programmed to undertake a self test "over the air" monitored by TCR. It requires no re-testing, except when you receive a call from us. Please respond without delay to any calls made by CS for service of your TPL Trakker unit.
BESIDES THE MANY BENEFITS, WHAT IS THE UNFORESEEN ADVANTAGE OF TPL TRAKKER?
If a vehicle with a fake registration number similar to your's is used in the commission of a crime, TPL Trakker monitoring report will save you from being wrongfully implicated.
DOES TPL TRAKKER AFFECT MY VEHICLE'S BATTERY PERFORMANCE?
TPL Trakker line of products are certified for low current consumption. However there can be some electronic anomaly or your car accessories are consuming a high current. If you have installed extra electrical accessories in your vehicle please upgrade to a higher ampere battery to handle the extra load and avoid battery drain problems. In any case, please call TCR for further assistance / advice.
IF A CAR COULD NOT BE RECOVERED FOR ANY REASON, WHOM SHOULD I SUBSEQUENTLY KEEP IN TOUCH WITH?
Keep inquiring from Trakker Security Manager about its progress, who will also assist you to formally lodge the FIR and subsequently enquire about its recovery status from the Police and CPLC as well.

DO THESE DEVICES WORK AS CELL PHONES?
YES. Both POD and WATCH can call and receive two way phone calls. However, the main purpose of these devices is location and safety. A limited number of voice calls are covered in your monthly package. Beyond that you need to top-up additional amount to use the devices.
ARE THE DEVICES AVAILABLE NOW?
YES. POD and WATCH both will be available by June, 2015. Some colors may be back-ordered. Call our contact number to get more information on sales and activation of devices.
CAN I DOWNLOAD THE APP FOR WATCH NOW?
YES. The Caref app for WATCH is available through iTunes for Apple users and through our website for Android users.
CAN I DOWNLOAD THE APP FOR POD NOW?
YES. The Imhere app is available through iTunes for Apple users and through our website for Android users.
CAN I USE MY OWN SIM CARD AND CELLULAR CARRIER?
NO. We have arranged special packages with cellular operators for the devices, these devices are locked for those operators and only the SIM card and carrier provided with the device will work.
ARE THERE ANY LONG-TERM CONTRACTS?
YES. The initial service contract is for one year.
DO THEY WORK INTERNATIONALLY?
NO. Currently, these devices only operate within Pakistan and only in the region where there exists a cellular coverage of the particular carrier.
WILL I GET ALERTS ON MY PHONE?
YES. There are 3 types of alerts: 1) if the SOS Button is held down you receive a text letting you know your that you help is needed; 2) if the devices cross over the geo-fence boundary you created in the app; and 3) Low Battery Alerts.
CAN I GET ALERTS ON MY IPAD, TABLET OR PC?
YES. There is a mobile app for iOS and Android devices, and there is also a web app for your computer. Through which you can receive alerts.
CAN MORE THAN ONE PHONE HAVE ALERTS FROM ONE DEVICE?
YES. You can program multiple phones to track each band. This will be done through your account on our website, which will require a user name and password to access your secure account.
IS THERE A SAFETY LATCH TO DETER REMOVAL?
No. There is no safety latch to detect or deter removal
ARE THEY WATERPROOF?
NO. POD is not water proof. YES. WATCH is water proof, in rain water or shower not suitable for swimming.
WILL THE BATTERY LAST ALL DAY?
YES. POD typically lasts for 3 days. WATCH lasts 24 hours under normal conditions. Just recharge at night, and you are good to go the next day.
ARE THEY EASY TO CHARGE?
YES. Both devices come with a mini USB charger with cable
IS THERE A WARRANTY?
YES. Each device comes with 1-year warrant against manufacturer defects.
CAN THE USER SWITCH THE DEVICE OFF?
YES. Both POD and WATCH have a power button to switch the device off. However, you can deactivate power off button for WATCH at the time of device activation once deactivated the WATCH cannot be switched off from the device.
CAN THE DEVICES BE JAMMED BY JAMMERS?
YES. Both POD and WATCH work through GSM/GPRS signal. If those signals are blocked the device will stop communicating the location.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS NO GSM SIGNAL OR CELL PHONES NETWORKS ARE SWITCHED OFF BY GOVERNMENT?

THE DEVICE IS SHOWING ME FURTHER FROM MY CURRENT LOCATION- WHY?
Both device use GPS Satellite system that has accuracy of 10m in outdoors. Once you are inside your home or office the Satellite systems are not accessible, the devices than uses AGPS using Cellular network information with an accuracy of 100m to 200m. If your location is inaccurate while you are indoors please go under the open sky to access satellites for enhanced accuracy.
CAN I CHANGE THE PRESET EMERGENCY NUMBERS?
YES. You can change preset emergency numbers through smart phone applications for both the devices. You can also make these changes through a secured account on web portal. Your device needs to be switched on when you make these changes.
CAN I CHANGE THE FREQUENCY OF THE LOCATION UPDATE?
YES. POD and WATCH are pre-programmed to update location every 5mins. Time interval can be modified through customer service or Mobile app.
